Using Tabata Songs
Grab your friends and bring the motivation for working out. Your horses will be very thankful that you are increasing your body awareness. Working out teaches your body how to self support. What if you’ve never lifted your upper body off the ground like doing a push up? How do you think counterbalancing is going to go on a horse? You will have a hard time letting go of the reins while staying balanced in the saddle.
Your horse will appreciate that you can lift yourself off the ground and gaining self support. By increasing physical structural support, you are allowing the animal to move more independent. This combination is fluid and easier on everyone all around. So spend time doing simple floor exercises to make sure you can have basic self support.
EXERCISES
- Plank Up/ Downs (knees)
- Side plank right side down
- Bridge feet on BOSU/Bench
- Side plank left side down
- Split Squat right leg back
- Split Squat left leg back
- Shoulder Press (5-10 lbs)
- Boat pose with core twists side to side (medicine Ball
Tabata Songs
You can find these songs most anywhere and you can pick from a variety of genres. There’s a count of 20 seconds for each exercise with a 10 second lead up or add it making each exercise 30 seconds. Super set the area with all the equipment that you will need for all eight exercises. There’s little time between exercises so you need to grab stuff quick.
You can run through 2 to 3 of these songs at the end of a lifting session and really burn some calories. Use it in group fitness at the barn to get everyone 100% motivated. Tabata has been around with much success at burning fat; high intensity interval training.
Train the exercise list above for at least 2 sets. That last set, add a Tabata song using the same exercises. Feel the burn!!!
